About us

Arran Outdoor Education Centre sits on the shores of Lamlash Bay on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Purpose-built in 2008, the centre offers a comfortable and welcoming base for outdoor learning and residential experiences.

Our door education on Arran has a proud history spanning more than 50 years. Strathclyde Regional Council established the service at Corrie Croft in the 1970s. It later moved to Whiting Bay, where it became the Arran Outdoor Education Resource, before relocating to its current home in Lamlash. Today, the centre continues this long tradition by providing high-quality outdoor learning opportunities for young people and community groups. Find out more about the history of Arran Outdoor Education Centre.

Today, just as in the days of 'The Croft', our small, dedicated team of instructors and support staff creates positive, meaningful experiences for every group that visits.

Our size and location help us create a genuine 'home away from home' atmosphere. Groups quickly get to know our staff, become familiar with the centre, and enjoy a warm, welcoming environment that encourages learning, personal growth, and lasting friendships. We believe the most memorable experiences come from feeling connected to people, places, and the outdoors.
